August 2009: Otek Corporation announces that it will supply state-of-the-art digital bargraph indicators for Southern California Edison’s San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). The digital bargraphs will replace nearly 750 analog meters in the control rooms as well as the simulator of Units 2&3.
To allow for the use of existing panel cutouts, Otek designed a new instrument housing, which meets the EPRI TR102323 Rev.3 Guidelines for EMI/RFI. Other customized features include the display board and USB Serial I/O. For the motherboard, Otek relied on its proven and qualified design as used in the HI-Q Series automatic tricolor bargraphs. The change-out at SONGS is scheduled to be completed by December 2011.
The meters will be supplied under contract with Otek’s 10CFR50 Appendix B Quality Assurance Program partner, NLI, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX.
